Hello all,
Need some help with a new PC build.

ASUS Sabertooth X58

Basic problem- Setting up a RAID Array on Marvell controller which Windows 7 Ultimate doesn't see/recognize.

I have an Intel SSD im using for boot on the Intel Sata controller (SATA 6), a DVDR-W (SATA5) and I have two WD Caviar black 1TBs SATA 6GB/s drives that I'm trying to set up in a Raid 0 array on the Marvell-controlled Sata III ports. I created a virtual disk using Marvell utility during POST (Ctrl+M) and it shows no problem.

In Windows the Intel SSD and the DVD-RW show up but the RAID Array does not.
In device manager the array is showing up under Disk Drives as 'MARVELL Raid VD 0 SCSI Disk Device'

Under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers it lists-
ATA Channel 0
ATA Channel 0
ATA Channel 1
ATA Channel 1
Intel ICH10 Family 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller2 - 3A26
Intel ICH10 Family 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller1 - 3A20

Under Storage controllers-
JMicron JMB36X Controller
Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller

All the above show no problems in device manager.

I haven't updated the Bios or done anything funky yet.

How do I get my array working? Why is it showing up as a SCSI disk Device?
I read that it may be impossible to set up RAID on the Marvell ports. Is this true?

Thanks for all your help people.
Much appreciated

OopS!!!!! I didnt initialize, partition and format the disks in the Array. Once I did that everything seems to be working.

How to for anyone reading this post -
Right click on computer in the start menu
Click Manage
Click Disk management in the left menu
Look for the unused space and initialize it, format it and partition it if needed.
Voila.
Hope that's all I have to do!
