Can rampage iii extreme run 4 GPUs in crossfire

I have got a Rampage III Extreme board and 4 Radeon HD 6970's I have set them up with crossfire but one won't show up in device manager anybody help me out with some ideas?

Only way to do four way CF is with two dual GPU cards. (6990, 5970, etc) Even if the board has 4 slots, it will only work with three cards.

Thanks for that I am swapping the board now for one that supports four cards but I may have to get some more cash before layin out for the new cards. Thanks for your help though.
