How do I load my files from my windows 7 computer to a hard drive

I was wandering if someone could help me load all my files on my windows 7 computer to a hard drive so that I can restore my computer? Thanks!

Easy one.
1. Get a USB hard drive.
2. Plug it in.
3. call up Windows Explorer.
4. Establish a designation folder on your USB “jump” drive and drag and drop all your folders into it.
-Or-
After you plug in the USB drive, designate it as the destination for your Windows backup in Control panel and have windows perform a backup.

Done.
