I don't know how memory really works because there's dual channel and triple channel. Go see what your CPU supports. On the other hand it should work but the motherboard will run at the slowest speed out of the RAM. You can manually adjust this via bios to its proper speed however. I would make sure that all your memory have the same specs like same timing and whatnot though.

Triple channel is only applicable to LGA1366 motherboards. This is an LGA1156 motherboard, so it's dual channel.

Unusually, this motherboard does have 6 DIMM sockets - you don't normally see that in a dual channel motherboard, so it's understandable that some confusion could arise.

The list of tested RAM can be found here: http://download.gigabyte.asia/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_ga-p55a-ud6.pdf

The latest version of the manual (in English) can be found here: http://download.gigabyte.asia/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-p55a-ud6_e.pdf

The manual lists one serious restriction when installing 6 DIMMs - the DIMMs in sockets 2, 3, 5, and 6 must be single-sided DIMMs. That can be a problem, because more than half the DIMMs listed in the list of tested RAM are double-sided DIMMs. If your existing DIMMs are double-sided, you will have to discard at least one pair, because you won't be able to use them in a 6 DIMM configuration. If your existing DIMMS are single-sided, then you can use single or double sided DIMMs for the third pair, as long as you install any double-sided DIMMs in sockets 1 and 4.

Do you think your problem might be due to having double-sided DIMMs?
