I'd like a machine that will be good for typical home use -- music, movies, ms office, etc. -- but am not enthusiastic about buying something from a major manufacturer because I *believe* it's more cost effective to go the DiY route, so am looking to build something on my own.

Put together these specs...

Total comes to $608 after $25 combo discount.

What do you think? Will I have any compatibility issues with the components? Are there any swaps you'd recommend?

Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide.

The 500GB Caviar black isnt a good deal, you can pick up a Samsung F3 1TB for $5 more normally or $10 less with promo code, but it expires today

I would swap the PSU for the one in this combo, its a pretty sweet deal since the PSU is 15% off with promocode XFXPOWER bringing the combo price down to $217 before rebate giving you a stronger, still modular PSU for basically the same price both before and after rebate

Other than that everything is good and will work well together.
