Sata drive will not burn dvd

Hello,
my sata dvd/cd will burn data but not dvd i have reinstalled windows vista changed my media replacded the drive changed my burning program but still wont burn dvd

Are you sure it's a DVD burner?

Some factory-fitted optical drives on older computers/laptops are "combo" drives which can burn to CD but can only read DVD media

If your drive used to able to burn to DVD then it's obviously not a "combo" drive. Posting the make & model of your drive would have been helpful.
