Hi my computer has a very inconsistent network. I am using a netgear dualband usb network adapter. I am two floor above the best router in my house. Sometimes my network is fine and other times it drops or is very slow. Yet the next day itll be perfectly fine. To get a more consistent network i was thinking about getting a plug and play, something like this
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001J2ZSLE/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

unfortunately im afraid to buy it do to shipping and restocking fees. Does anyone have any suggestions?( other than running cat 5, which is not an option)

thanks
stephen

If your router has the facility to let go of its aerial and allow another in, you might benefit from buying an antenna with an extended cable so it can be mounted in a better place. Some unscrew and others do not but if yours does, take it to the shop in case there's more than one type of thread.
