Advice transfering to raid/ tips & thoughts

Hello,
my partner has quite a few photos on a desktop computer with one hard drive. I have two identical new 500gb hard drives available. I'd like to get to a place where both the new hard drives are in her computer with the photos on running RAID 1. A 500gb hard drive is more than enough space (she only needs 200gb for all photos now &future) Thanks for any help

Just install the two HDDs as single drives. Store the photos on one drive and sync them to the outer from time to time. SyncToy 2.1 from Microsoft will do that for free. It's way easier to handle then the crappy software raid1 of the cipset.
