Hey, ive bought a new power supply and upgraded from my older jeantech 405W that amazingly ran a I7 870+ GTX275 with no problems. The power supply in question is the

OCZ StealthXStream 600W
12v:18A
12V:18A
12V:18A
12V:18A
Total 12v= 580w

Right so is this a good power supply to start off with, and also will it run two HD5870's in crossfire being them more efficient then the GTX275.

Thanks.

Rig:
Intel i7 870 2.93Ghz @ 4Ghz/w HT ON
Corsair Dominator GT 2133Mhz@ 2200Mhz
Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5
NZXT M59
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB
Western Digital Caviar 300GB

According to Toms... The HD5870 CF consumes around 560W of power. That would leave you with very little room. Should be enough but tight.

The power consumption on Tom's chart is made my stressing out the GPU with Furmark. Which is quite a load test. No real world application stresses out the GPU so much.

Your 600W is just about going to make ends meet. I would suggest going for an 800W 80% Efficiency Plus type of PSU.
Since you're already overclocking and the scope for going higher is there. I would not only suggest but insist on an 800W PSU since if you plan to game heavily on the rig, it's going to suck up a little more than 600W on the GPUs itself.... could lead to random restarts and reboots.

Honestly I would go for a 700 or 750 Watt. Their are some good ones out there for for cheap. Here is a PSU calculator that will help http://support.asus.com/PowerSupplyCalculator/PSCalculator.aspx?SLanguage=en-us.
