2 slot or 3 slot sli water block connector?

can someone please tell me which (2 slot or 3 slot) crossfire vid connector i need to use on ASUS p67 deluxe motherboard?

3-slot, but do you need CrossFire or SLI? Your topic says one, but your post says the other. An SLI bridge is included in the P8P67 Deluxe, but a CrossFire connector is either supplied with graphics cards themselves (typically for higher-end models), or must be purchased separately.

Also, what does a water-block have to do with anything?

its for two amd 6970 cards and ek fc6970 waterblocks. i was thinking about using phobya sli/crossfire vid connector but i'm not sure which one to use(2 or 3 slot spacing)

Well, here's a pic of the board:

It shows three slots separating the PCIe x16 slots, so you'd need a 3-slot cable.

The cards should each come with a CrossFire cable in their packaging. To confirm this, look up the exact make/model on the manufacturer's website. While there, you should be able to find out if the included cable is of 3-slot length.

Using a water-block vs. the stock HS/Fan makes no difference. It won't interfere with the cable at all. Designing one that would interfere with CrossFire cables is kind of counter-intuitive, wouldn't you agree?
