I'm building a gaming computer for myself for my 18th birthday this year. I have little to no experience building computers and would like to know what parts I need to purchase, this includes fans heatsinks, etc.

I plan on buying from New Egg. Basically what parts should I buy to have a kick-ass system for under $700. It'll primarily be used for gaming.

Also any tips and tricks on building computers would be much appreciated. I would also love links to good how-to videos.

Thanks, your help is much appreciated.

Does that include a monitor? If not, what is the model of the one you have?

For guides, this is a pretty comprehensive one: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/274745-31-step-step-g...

For first time builders It may be smart to buy a anti-static wristband, but it not crucial. Just don't work on carpet, be careful, and google when you have a problem. Treat it like building legos and it should be an easy process.
