Problem with Internal USB Ports of Gigabyte Motherboard

Last response: in Motherboards

Hi, I just finished building my first PC. It runs great except for one small thing; I can't get the internal USB 2.0 ports to work. The back panel USB 2.0 ports work fine, but the internal USB ports (the ports plugged into the front panel on case) don't. My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3-B3:

My case is a Bitfenix Shinobi Window:

So far I have tried updating the bios, installing drivers from the CD, and searching for drivers with Windows troubleshooting wizard. The CD didn't seem to have any drivers, and Windows couldn't find any. I'm also fairly certain I installed the connectors from my case correctly. So, any ideas as to what the problem may be?

(Also sorry if this in this is in the wrong section, I couldn't decide which area it should go.)

Thanks, that helped a lot. I'm not sure how I managed to miss the intel drivers as I installed other drivers from that page. Now when I plug in a device Windows registers that a device has been plugged in (it didn't before), but displays a "hardware not recognized" error. I have tried a variety of USB devices but it says the same error for each one of them. However, when I plug the same devices into the back panel usb ports there are no problems. Does anybody know how to fix this?

Your case wiring could be messed up. It happens.

You could test that by plugging in an internal USB card reader. If it works, you have a problem with your case. If it doesn't work, you have a problem with your motherboard.
