I'm thinking of building my own computer after realizing that it's quite a bit cheaper than buying a pre-built system that will most likely include an awful PSU etc.
I've been looking around on prices, finding the best deals, and ultimately made a plan for the components that i'll use. However, i'm stuck on the Motherboard, which is why I'm here.

Planned System:
AMD Phenom II X4 Quad-Core 970 BE
ATI Radeon HD 6850
8GB Kingston DDR3 RAM
1TB HDD
700W?* Dolphin PSU

Now i'm not really sure which motherboard to use, however, i have found these:

Asus M4A88TD-V EVO - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/206153
Asus M4A88TD-M - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/206150
Asrock 870 Extreme 3

Which one of those 3 would be most suitable, or, do you have any other suggestions for around the same price?

*Is 700W enough, or overkill?

Thank you very much in advance!

700W is overkill - you could use rather less, like 550W (to allow some slack for upgrading video, adding hard drives, etc). I would strongly recommend getting a good quality power supply (Dolphin is not one of the brands I'd pick) - something like a Seasonic, Antec, Corsair, ...

I won't comment on motherboard choice, though - I'm not familiar with AMD motherboards.

Dolphin is actually a very respectable psu brand at a shop near me - it's their own brand, and it's very well made :)
Also, what would be better to get:
*Kingston 8GB (2X4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 - £42
*G Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333mhz Ripjaws - £45
About the 700W, really? 550W? - I've actually been looking at this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/269259

Your options are open... it all kinda matters on whether or not you plan on upgrading this setup in the future. If you plan of crossfiring, I would keep the PSU and go with the ASRock mobo with the 1-year warranty.

700W is a little much for one video card, but I'd rather have too much rather than hear a cpu scream bloody murder.

If you know that you're not interested in crossfiring, I'd go with the ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO, it has good specs and a 3-year warranty, and you could downgrade your PSU to save some $$$$.

If you really wanted to be ballsy, my suggestion would be an ASUS Sabertooth 990fx TUF mobo with a 5-year warranty. It will support crossfire, plus offer the AM3+ layout for the future Bulldozer releases... [:bohleyk:2]

But, the price tag on the mobo is ~$200, so only consider it if you'll really take full advantage of its capabilities

Thanks for the replies.
I'm not considering crossfiring in the near future, so i think i'll go with the ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO and a 600W Corsair PSU.

Thanks for the help
