Approximate Purchase Date: I would like to purchase everything before this week is over.

Budget Range: I'd prefer not to go above $1,650 before mail-in rebates, but I'm a little flexible.

System Usage From Most to Least Important: Gaming, surfing the internet, and watching movies will be mostly what I use it for.

Parts Not Required: I already have a keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers.

Preferred Website(s) For Parts: Newegg.com.

Country of Origin: United States of America.

Parts Preferences: Intel.

Overclocking: Not initially, but eventually.

SLI or Crossfire:
Same as above.

Monitor Resolution: 1680x1050.

Additional Comments: I've decided to build a new computer to replace my current one, which is four or so years old. I've never built one before, but I have an idea of what I need. I was hoping someone with more experience could look over the parts I've chosen to see if everything is compatible and make any suggestions as needed. While I have gone with Intel, I would be willing to switch to AMD if I can get better performance for the same price or cheaper.

I agree entirely that an i7 has nothing to offer you.

And that XFX PSU is 15% off so it's actually the same price, just a lot nicer for it. For an i5 you only need 4GB of ram.
