HD2900 Pro issue, coloured vertical lines

hey i've recently done some work on my rig and after putting it back together my graphics card doesn't seem to work. It was fine before the rebuild but now all i get from it is a monitor full of coloured vertical lines. i've got the latest driver software (catalyst because its ati) but it doesn't seem to be kicking in. unfortunatly the onboard graphics are ati as well, so CCC is only picking up the on board chipset, and every time i start up with the card in, the display jumps to that. I've tried disabling it in bios but it seems that if the card is installed and pluged in the Mb will use it.

Currently running
MSI 790GX-G65 motherboard
Galaxy 1kW psu
Windows 7 ultimate (32bit)

Any help would be really appreciated.

hmm, just discovered that quite a few people have had a similar problem after removing the heatsink and replacing it with a water block, however the problem they report is absolutly no output from the card at all.

Does anyone have any ideas??
