Hey,

So I just bought an SSD for upgrading my system. I want to have only windows on the SSD, and maybe the odd programme.

What I want to know is, what happens to my old games on my HDD. I have 30 Games on steam, and also lots of photoediting software. Do I have to reinstall everything back onto the HDD? Or can I just remove windows from the HHD, keeping all of my programmes?

Are you upgrading the operating system as well (upgrading from an older version of Windows to Windows 7 or 8)? If not, you may be able to clone the drive using software that comes with the SSD or find a cloning software that will do the job.

If you go for a clean OS installation on the SSD, all your stuff (OS, games, etc) on the HDD will be kept intact -- you can edit your photos, play your games without a problem.
