My system generated SMART alarms and an HD replacement is recommended. I'm trying to avoid finding and reloading all my software so when I found that Seagate sells drives that come with cloning software (DiscWizard) and once loaded it becomes a "drag and drop" sort of exercise I thought I found my solution. WRONG !
Physical install no problem, BUT upon reboot system wants to take me to RAID settings for my new drive. Don't need/want a RAID, end state will be 1 HD not partitioned configured like my current HD. Plus, the new drive appears in the hardware tree but NOT in My Computer.
in addition the Seagate instructions state "you MAY need your motherboard CD to load drivers and format new HD."
I have a working system, no grinding or squeals coming from the HD, just the alarm flag. I'd hate to take a potential..eventual (?) trouble and turn it into a disaster.

All opinions/ comments appreciated.
