External HD not accessible

Hey everybody! I'm having quite the issue with my external hard drive (WD My Book 500GB). It's saying that the drive isn't accessible. It's being recognized in Disk Management, and in the properties it's saying that the device is working properly.
I've looked all over for solutions, but can't seem to find one that works. I've tried three different USB cables, I plugged it into different six different ports, changed the drive letter, and I even re-installed the drivers, but I'm still getting the error.
Any ideas?

That's the weird thing about it... About a month back (when it was working on my computer), I plugged it into my friends so he could grab some music files and he got the "not accessible" error. Still worked for me though.
I did have to do a hard reboot earlier today... I also had to re-install Windows. Do you think that might have caused it?
