"unsupported space"
Do you mean "unallocated space" ?
It means there are no partitions on the drive, or the partition-table on it is damaged or missing.
The hard drive may have failed so you need to test it with drive maker's diagnostic software.
The diagnostic software loads from a bootable CD so you can test it without needing Windows to do it.
It's called SeaTools for DOS. Download the ISO file from here: http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/seatools/
Use IMGBURN on a working PC to create the CD from the ISO file: http://www.filehippo.com/download_imgburn/
Then boot your faulty PC from that CD and SeaTools for DOS will eventually open.
Select the faulty hard drive and run the Long/extended test on it.
Note: SeaTools for DOS requires either a PS/2 mouse or PS/2 keyboard because it does not load any USB drivers.
