Shopping list for first time build. Any advice?

This will be my first attempt at a build. The comp will be for gaming and home use. Any advice would be deeply appreciated!

  1. i5 760 is the new model. Should be about the same price but a bit faster.

    Caviar blue is the cool and quiet server drive line. For a gaming system boot disk you at least want caviar black or a faster Samsung F3 500GB or Seagate 7200.12 500GB.

    With and SSD, the HDD isnt as important. But make sure you get a good SSD like an OCZ Vertex 2. There have been huge improvements in SSDs over the past year and the newer designs are far faster and dont degrade as quickly as the older ones.

    Antec Sonata is wide enough for a 120mm cooler. Depends on if you plan on doing any overclocking at all.

    Both the HD and HSF should be changed. About same rpice you can get a 1tB Spinpoint F3 and Hyper 212 Plus.

    Be sure you're buying the OEM version of the OS to save some money.

    Case wise, you should also consider this Antec 300 + Antec BP 550 combo
