So I was replacing my mobo, and when it came time to attack the various HDD LED and other wires from the case I
the ones referring to speakers "5v ground ground speaker" I accidentally put in backwards, when I powered up the system this wire went white hot. System was only powered up for maybe 10 seconds, Did I seriously screw myself here? to the point where I will need to buy a new case or should I be ok ?
Speakers are not important for the operation of the computer so if you only fried the speaker or speaker wire, just dont connect it. It is possible you fried something on the motherboard, but you wont know unless you can see/smell damage or find that it no doesnt work.
