What sound card should I buy for vocal recording?

Forum CPU & Components : Sound Cards What sound card should I buy for vocal recording?

Word :    Username :

I am planning to build a new computer and was thinking about making music as well. I am looking for suggestions on which sound card I should buy for recording vocal e.g. singing, rapping etc. I am a beginner so I dont know much about it so I dont need to buy a very expensive one. My budget is around $200

The main problem is that most consumer soundcards focus on audio OUTPUT, not input. Of all the brands, ASUS probably has the best support in this area, but you should probably look more toward studio level soundcards. You might want to take a look at some of M-audio's products. I admist I am NOT specilized in this area though...
