Deleted WIndows.old file and now PC wont post

So yeah, not the brightest thing for me to do, but I had the idea in my head that I could delete the windows.old file after I reinstalled windows 7 and after this the computer kept freezing. I decided I would go ahead and reinstall windows. I got my disk out and turned on the computer and All of a sudden there was no post. Does anyone have any idea what could have happened.

IMO - Never 'upgrade' Windows - Install Clean.

Once 'Repaired' transfer the Documents {Photos, Video, Documents, Music, etc} to a second HDD -- VERIFY 100% ALL your DATA is BACKED-UP. Then reformat, re-install Windows 7, re-install Apps and then transfer the backed-up data.
As far as what happened - possibly some start-up App or Library may have been improperly linked to 'windows.old' aka Registry/Corruption error.
