Upgrade 520m to i7

i was wondering if anybody knows if its possible to buy an arandale chip (640m i7) and be able to swap it with a 520m i5 from a laptop motherboard? they both arandale chips socket 988. sounds like its theoretically possible but will the bios be able to pick it up?

impossible to say without you telling us the laptop model and brand.

In all likely-hood though, it still wont tell us much. The only for sure way to know is to try.
