Hi I would like some suggestion for a gaming rig under $1100 , this is my first time building a rig so any sort of advice will help!
I will mostly use this comp for media , surfing and most important to play starcraft 2
So far i have this as a build .
Asus P7P55 LX w/ Dual DDR3 1600, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, PCI-E, CrossFireX
Intel Core™ i5 Processor 760 2.66GHz w/ 8MB Cache
Patriot Extreme Performance Viper II Sector 5 Series DDR3 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC3-10666 Low Latency Dual Channel Kit
Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue 7200rpm SATA II w/ 32MB Cache
Samsung SH-S223B 22x SpeedPlus™ DVD-Writer, SATA, Black, OEM
HIS Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 PCI-E w/ DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort
Silverstone Strider Essential 500W Power Supply
Cooler Master Elite 310 Case w/ Window
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium x64 (64-bit) DVD - OEM
is there anything i could change? any help would be appreciated!
Total - ~$911 not including shipping or taxes...Also if you check other CA websites like ncix.com, canadacomputer.com, memoryexpress, tigerdirect.ca, you would find either lower prices or no additional charges...
My current screen has a resolution of 1440 x 900 ( which sorta sucks) , Im most likely just playing starcraft 2 ( hoping this rig is capable of ultra ...) and LoL .
and about the phenom , my friend told me intel is alot better =S
I actually helped a friend do an i5 build around your budget last week.
The build isn't exactly what he got because he used a bunch of combos and some of those didn't have any. It also doesn't include an OS because he already has that. You could go for a better PSU like a Corsair 650TX or maybe add a boot drive SSD like OCZ Vertex 2 60GB.
I'm sure if you gave us an estimated date of purchase then somebody on these forums could help you build something really nice with combos.
