I need to replace a Dell E510 power supply with at least a GOOD 430W - 500W. Being a newbie I went and bought a NICE ANTEC 650W BUT failed to realize that the fan was on the top side rather than the back. Can someone help me figure out one that is GOOD but will fit my e510?

Turn the Antec over, I guarantee it works.

It would go down into the case then.

The fan pulls air in from the case and exhausts it through the PSU to the outside, it shouldnt stick down into the case any notable amount, and certainly not enough to cause issue.

Okay....so, here's what I think you're saying. The fan is completely enclosed in the case. It is sucking air up through the fan and out of the rear vent by the power switch?

I feel really dumb.

Wouldn't a lot of dust accumulate in the PSU without something actively blowing it out of the back?

Also, here's my rant: Shouldn't ANTEC include pictures in their instructions? :-)

I suppose in a dusty environment it could, but periodic dusting of the case is a reccomended practice.

Hmm, 4 screw holes on the power supply, 4 screw holes on your case

Yep....checkmate. Haha! But you know....you have to learn somehow, right? I could have paid someone to do it but instead am learning.

LOL! Thanks for the help...I'll install tonight or this weekend and let you know how it goes.
