X6 worth $180+free game?

So i've been trying to make a build for the last few days. Can't decide for the life of me between a i5-760 build, 955, or now this six core.

What's the purpose of this system? Gaming? workstation? The AMD x6's are horrendous for gaming. You're much better off w/ an x4 or i5-760.

I have a Phenom II x6 and it is an awesome gamer. Granted, an i5/i7 will out-perform it in many cases, but I have been nothing short of ecstatic with the performance I get for the amount I invested.

My x6 coupled with a HD5850 chews through everything I throw at it at high (or better) settings.

For that price I would take it over an X4 anyday, but depending on your total budget an i5-760 may be better.

ugh what a headache, everyday i check newegg theres a new combo that throws off my entire build, I'm just gonna remake a new thread properly comparing my 2 builds.

Decide what you want and how much you want to spend and pull the trigger. There is always a new deal or toy just around the corner and you'll go crazy (and end up with nothing) if you keep looking for the next "best deal combo". Good luck!
