Hello everyone. First post on the forums. Hopefully I can get the help I am looking for. I am looking to upgrade my processor. Reason why is because I currently run heavy duty programs, such as sony vegas (video editing software) and Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop isnt the problem, The sony vegas seems to be running at it's max specially when I try to preview the video i just editing (frames per sec lag). Anyway below are my specs and I am looking to go with a better processor. If I have to stick with the AMD brand I have no problem as long as it performs. I have the sandra program if any more info is needed. Im basically looking for an answer on which processor to get that will fit. I know my laptop is upgradable as i called gateway support and the lady at customer service support said yes it is upgradable, but wouldnt tell me to what type of processor she recommends ( I needed to contact a tech)... Thank you

The m300 is one of the newer amd mobile cpus; I found only one faster by 200 hertz; not worth the money for such a small performance boost. If you want a significant performance increase, look at the i5 or i7 Intel systems and sell your old one. And if you've got deep pockets, get one with an ssd; after using my 32gb patriot, I'll never go back to a regular sata hardrive unless the ssd fails.

Thanks everyone for the replies so quickly. When you say sell your old one. do you mean sell my whole laptop or sell the processor. sorry if i sound like a newbie (which i am). So basically it isnt worth upgrading i guess? Thanks!
