Dual monitor KVM switch needed or just cables?

In the near future I'm going to be getting rid of my CRT monitor and replacing it with dual monitors. I have a new Win7 build and my old WinXP machine that currently run on a 2-port KVM switch.

So my question is, would I need to get a dual monitor KVM switch or can I attach cables like such Belkin SOHO USB/DUAL VGA With AUD to the already present VGA cables going to Win7 machine and WinXP machine respectively?

It appears that it's essentially a splitter.

Thanks!

  1. A dual dvi kvm switch should resolve your issues but if you need only 2 systems to deal with its a fine choice. I am sure you'll find a nice dal here- http://www.kvmstuff.com/server-management/kvm-switches.html
