LSI RAID controller question (cloning RAID 1)

Hi guys,

I have an ASUS P8B-M server board. Two 1TB drives make up the RAID 1 array on the LSI controller. I need to clone this virtual drive to a single drive for repeat customer orders. They order server often, and this configuration has preloaded software on it for their specific use. Here is my problem:

I have attached a separate 1TB drive to clone over to, but though I see the drive in the LSI pre-os bios, when I get into ghost or acronis, even windows server 2008 r2, the programs ONLY see the RAID 1 array. They do not see the non member disk. ASUS has advised me to just create a virtual drive for my separate 1TB, but I can't seem to figure it out in their antiquated bios without first creating a RAID for the single drive...which seems like it would not work that way...

Anyway, if anyone knows how to get ghost or acronis to see NON member disks on ASUS p8b-m using LSI, it would be VERY appreciated.

Thanks!

With RAID1, which is a mirror raid.
Just remove a drive and replace it with a new drive.

LSI should be able to rebuilt the new drive.
Give the removed drive your customer

I dont see the complication of it... Unless the existing RAID is not a RAID1 (mirror)
