ATI display adapter (0x9712) update

hello
a lot of games does not detect my video card type and does not have my resolution but the resolution is available on my friends computer which is almost the exact same as mine and very smiler screen sizes and i cant find any driver updates that are available so i don't know what to do or what the problem is

It's the monitor's firmware that tell the OS it refresh rate and resolution, not the adapter.
