Student laptop

my sister is asking an advice for a student/working laptop which is fast and the at same time good battery life and portable, maybe in 12" min to 14" max screen size, and hopefully there's a disk drive. The price range is $800 or less. Usually to utilized for computing like MS word, excel and PPT. Thanks!

You can find excellent bargains on eBay for some Lenovo laptops. Excellent Keyboards, reliable machines overall.

For general use like MS word-excel or PPT you can get a laptop as cheap as possible, cause for those programs you don't need high end specs, so laptop with i3 or Atom is more than enough...
