so i was going to put molex powered led ring to my pc
but i heard my idea would not work :(
0=led
_=line
here is my plan +_0_0_0_0_0_0_-
it shold use +12v from molex
will this work or will it fail
and if it fails how to get it working?

Your idea will not work. You need a current limiting resistor in series. 6 LED's will drop about 4 volts. It takes about 25 ma (.025 amp) to illuminate an LED.

The resistor should be around:
(8 volts/.025 amps) = 320 ohms. Use a 1/2 watt 300 or 330 ohm resistor (standard values).

The last I looked the voltage drop across an led was at least 1.5v and up to a little over 3v depending on the led; so 6 leds would drop 9v minimum leaving 3v to limit the current with (ie - thru the resistor) or add in 2 more 1.5v led's and bypass the resistor all together.

It really depends on your LED selection and its specifications.
