I really need to replace my computer for college as my old one gets about 15 minutes of battery life and is kinda out dated to replace the battery. So ive been looking into the acer timelinex series since they supposedly get around 8 hours of battery life, which i would love since i take it to class. I know its realistically around 6ish.

here are the specs:

http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-TimelineX-AS4820TG-5637-14-Inch/dp/B003VTZPQ6%3FSubscriptionId%3D0EWA6R5AGNW9AA6JF8R2%26tag%3Dalatestcom-20%26linkCode%3Dxm2%26camp%3D2025%26creative%3D165953%26creativeASIN%3DB003VTZPQ6

Just wondering if these are entirely accurate though cause ive been reading reviews around the web and hear its a i5 not i3. Has anyone had experience with this series, like build quality? Also how is gaming? would i be able to do some light gaming like borderlands, fallout 3 and others at a decent quality? Are there any better options that would also allow me to do some gaming on the laptop for around the same price? The main reason im considering this one is because of the battery life.

it has an ati hd5650 mobility graphics card according to the specs on the amazon page you linked. that should be fine for borderlands and fallout 3. it doesnt state the screens resolution but i checked the acer site and it says the resolution is 1366 x 768, so you should be getting at least medium settings in modern games.

looks like the laptop comes with a variety of processors, im guessing the i5 will cost more then the i3 version.
