MSI 870-G45 problems PLEASE HELP!!!

Hello, I just purchased a MSI 870-G45 motherboard and after installing everything I powered on the computer and put in a windows xp installation disk. The screen shows the msi splashcreen, then goes the a black screen with flashing white cursor in the top left corner of the screen and it wont read the windows install disk. I can go into bios and I set the boot sequence to read the disk drive first but it diddnt do anything. What do I do?

What XP, SP1, SP2? SP2 or 3 should work.

Does it spin? Does the lights blink? Trey some other SATA port for the DVD.
