I have a dell inspiron 530 and wanted to upgrade my graphics card from an hd 3450 to the hd 5770.I'm worried about my power supply not being able to handle it. Does anyone know what the power supply for the inspiron 530 is? Also i checked the specs for both cards and the 3450 requires 550 watts and the 5770 requires 450 watts, so it seems like i could get the 5770

You can open the case by yourself, there's must be a sticker on the PSU...

Most of Dell's are came with 300W-350W, so if you want to use HD5770 then you must upgrade your PSU with higher one, get a quality PSU like Corsair, Antec, OCZ, Seasonic, SilverStone with 500W minimum... :)

If you're thinking the 5770 uses less power than the 3450, that's not correct at all. It uses a lot more than the 3450. You're going to need a new PSU, because like everyone else says, the ones Dell uses for their standard model computers tend to top out at 350W, maybe 375W if you're lucky.
