I'm in the market for upgrading my computer. Currently I'm running;
core 2 duo 2.66 ghz
8600 gts
2 gb ram
a c 103 B Homebuilt system

Better GPU, maybe HD5770 or GTX460 based on PSU size. If you are running Win Vista or 7 another 2 GB of ram.

1. Overclock your Core 2 duo, assuming you have sufficient cooling.

2. Upgrade your Graphics card to something more powerful like a GTX 460 or a Radeon 5770, it depends on your PSU just like rolli59 said.

3. I'm not sure how starcfaft 2 is about RAM, but upgrading to 4GB can't hurt anything. (or 3 if you have a 32-bit system)

Thanks. I think the PSU is currently at 500w. Should I upgrade that also?

A good quality 500watt PSU would handle either of those cards just fine. So what is your budget?

Is Antec Earthwatts a good brand? that's the brand of the PSU.

Don't have a specific budget though I would like to avoid splurging on unnecessary parts. Probably gonna order GTX 460 and more ram as per suggestion. Not big on overclocking, just afraid to do damage to the CPU. Should I be overclocking?

Antec earthwatts is a good quality unit and comes highly recommended. With a GTX460 you would see a good increase by overclocking to 3.0GHz+. There is plenty of overclocking guides out there but here is one on tom´s http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/259899-29-core-overcl...

Sorry for the noob question, but what's AA? I've ordered my gtx 460 and waiting for that.
