Curious, your issue seems to be spawning when you play games, which leads me to think it's related to the graphics card. What card are you using? Is it overclocked? Updated drivers?

If your graphics card is overclocked, then bring it back down to normal. Not sure stock frequency and memory for the 9800gt though.
