I have a Sata 3 controller on my motherboard

I have 2 SSD's. one is Sata 3, the other is SATA 2.

If I plug them both into the same SATA 3 controller, will the controller bog down to SATA 2 Mode ?

no it not like the old ide drives. each sata port is it own. each port will run at the max speed of the device connected. a sata 3 port will slow down for the older device.

so it slows down for devices individually ? it wont slow down the whole controller ?

each sata port is by itself. you can put a slow device on a fast port and it wont slow down the other ports.
