Only getting a few HD and Music channels

I have a Hauppauge 2250, using Windows Media Center 7 and my cable provider is Charter. I managed to get a few HD channels up (TNT, ABC, TOON, etc), but not all the other stations I'm able to get normally (Comedy Central, Discovery, History Channel, etc. Channels 2-78 I think). I didn't have any special box before hand, just cable from the wall into my TV.

Is there anyway to get the rest of these channels?

Clear QAM digital TV channels are TV channels which are broadcast "in the clear" on your cable TV network. These are the HD channels that you can pick up without encription.

Over the air using HD Active Antenna you can receive most of the local channels that are HD free of any fee. I normally get 12 HD channels over the air.

After the cable/Sat box is an option to record / receive HD channels from cable/sat providers.
