Windows Doesn't detect Primary Hard Drive

December 23, 2012 9:22:22 PM

My hard Drive had crashed, so I purchased a new HD and am attempting to install windows 7. I only have the single hard drive on this system, and when I boot up the PC the Bios detects it. However when installing windows, it will not detect the hard drive. I borrowed a new empty Hard Drive from a friend and found the same issue existed. So I'm not sure if it's a HD issue, the motherboard, or what. Any suggestions? Below are my specs, and if you need any other information please let me know.

Intel Quad Core 2.33 GH Core 2 Quad 8200
Asus Sb P5QL-VM 61-MIB8Q2-01 Motherboard
Seagate Barracuda 7200 320 GB HD
(Also tried Western Digital 1 TB WD10EZRX)

Thank you, any help is greatly appreciated, been struggling with this for weeks now. Just want to get my PC up and running!
