Hello,
I have a dell with celeron d with windows xp. I latley just purchased the Sims 3 which I couldn't wait to play. But then there was a pop-up saying I need at least shader model 2. I need information please. I need all the info on shader model 2 and it being on video cards. This is all new to me, so I need to know, do I need a physical card with shader model 2 on it, or will I need to download it on the computer?

Solution

No, you need to get a card first.

You (or someone else) is going to have to open the case up and fit it inside.

One last question, I've seen sites were you can download the shader m. 2. Will those work? And If I do buy a physical card, How does it get into the computor? I hate technology!
