Will my old 5.1 speaker system work on my new PC?

I bought a Core i7 gaming computer with 6GB of DDR3 RAM and Two Radeon HD 5870's in CF. I was wondering if my 5-6 year old 5.1 speaker system (with subwoofer) will work in my brand new rig?

This speaker system was used on an old Pentium 4 rig I bought in 2003 (which has since died and been dismantled)

Despite the logitech 5.1 system's age, will it still be compatible and work 100% with my new rig?

My old Pentium 4, 1GB RAM, Radeon X800 Pro AGP gaming rig had MAJOR hardware and other technical problems. It was constantly being repaired. Until the processor and motherboard went bad and I finally decided to scrap the whole thing and get a new PC.

I had Two other 5.1 speaker systems, but sound only came out of Two speakers. Apparently this was a problem with the computer itself, and not the speakers. Because it happened with Two other sound systems. It's unlikely that both of them were faulty in the exact same manner.

It could also have been a problem with the audio drivers, etc...
