Not Detected

My external harddisk is not detected by laptop, please suggest what i need to do..

Go into Control Panel > Computer Management > Disk Management
In the bottom-right panel, see if there's a horizontal bar representing that drive.
Make sure it is that drive, then right-click and choose
"Change Drive Letter & Paths"
Click "Add"
Choose a letter.
Click 'OK'
