i am planning on buying 9800gt(1 gb)/gts 250(1 gb),but i am concerned with my power suuply.it has 450w & 16 amps in single 12v rail.is it sufficient?

if not what amps these cards require?with my psu is it not going to run at all or give below par performances?(i play most games in 1024x768 resolution, cause i think it,s enough)

You could use more amps, but don't buy a cheap brand; save some more $$ for a better brand, such as antec, ocz, corsair, seasonic, or enermax. Cheaper brands overstate their specs, and can fail suddenly while under load. I suggest a minimum of 22 amps on each 12v rail. Corsair ps often have a single 12 amp rating of at least 30.

Newegg has a program for calculating your system requirements; just yahoo for "power supply calculator" and look for newegg in the link.
