HP DV6000 boot problem

I am working on an HP DV6000 laptop. Someone was playing solitair and then it just shut off and will not power up except for 1 second then goes off. As soon as you press the power button it turns on for 1 second then shuts off. I've heard that these models have m/b issues. I just replaced the m/b but the same problem. The results are the same using the AC or just battery. Tried different power cords also. I need to get this fixed before this weekend..any ideas are appreciated! Thanks
