Surge Suppressor/UPS

I was wondering since the joules rating on most low end UPSs are like in the hundreds would it be smart/cost-efficient to just buy a surge suppressor and plug a UPS into that? I want to spend around 80-125 on it either choice or a combo since im already paying for a Corsair 750 AX; i want it to outlast its 7 year warranty

I wouldn't. I have no idea how surge protectors work internally, but I would suspect that plugging a surge protector into a UPS (which likely already has a surge protector) isn't a good idea...Just get a decent UPS and call it a day.

IDK, i we get a decent amount of surges in my hometown but in college the same things goes but there is also a good chance of a brown or black out. UPS would be nice except its too little of a surge suppressor for ease of mind; 400joules compared to 2-3 grand.
