XP WAS UPDATING COMPUTER REBOOTED ,NOW STAYS IN BIOS MODE

Does it ever get to the Windows XP splash screen (the screen where windows XP is loading with the scrolling bar, before the Welcome message is displayed)? If not, does it give you any error on the screen, such of boot disk failure?

If it doesn't complete post, pull the power lead out, remove cmos battery or short the reset cmos pins with a jumper, wait 1 minute and reconnect battery or remove jumper.

Startup pc, should go back to factory defaults and ask you to reconfigure your bios.
