The same problem people are facing if they go with an hd 5870 for the 120hz ....like screen flickering etc....so it's better to use an nvidia card for this...as they are better optimized with 3d viewing than ati....

@ leon2006 and rocky41:

If I were purchasing a new GPU now, I would go for NVidia, but I picked up my 5870 release week since it was the first DX11 card out of the gate. I'm not certain if 120HZ is worth taking out the 5870 to sell and pick up a 470/480 for.... thoughts?

There will be a patch to enable it? Which connector do you need to use? In Anandtech's article, it said that only the DVI-D supported 120hz/3D, does the same hold true for the 5870? Is there any test I could use to verify 120hz support?

there is a setting in Catalyst for setting your monitor to 120hz, but that is not a good indicator whether or not the 5870 can support 3d

ati will be coming out with a 3d option, i just don't know when
