More about upgrading geforce 6800
  1. I think an hd 5670 will be good for you with the resolution 1280x1024 ...it can handle every game at an high setting at this resolution...also having dx 11 support...but do check you have an pcie slot ....
  2. The 5670 will be limited by a pentium 4.You can try a 5570, but its better to get a new system.
  3. thanks for the replies!

Will these cards be compatible with my Gen5 motherboard?
  4. Well even your 6800 is bottlenecked by your p4 but I would go ahead and try to land a cheap 5750 or any thing along those lines.
  5. As long as it has PCI-E slot then you can use most of PCI-E cards out there...

Agree, any card will bottlenecked by pent.4, you might want consider cheap HD3650 or HD4650, it still bottlenecked by you cpu, but it still much better than GeForce 6800.

Don't waste more money on this old system, save your money and build a whole new system... :)
